歐洲冠軍聯賽即將在27日上演最終決賽，將由皇馬對上擁有幾位英格蘭國腳的利物浦，因此英格蘭主帥索斯蓋特(Gareth Southgate)特別表示，若利物浦能捧起金杯，將會大幅提振國家隊士氣。
「我認為這場比賽會對球員產生很大的影響，」索斯蓋特說，「我希望我們的球員能參加重要、大型的比賽，並從中獲得勝利，如此一來他們不僅能獲得信心，也知道自己該用怎樣的表現和心態來面對世界盃，遇到困難時也知道如何克服。」

英格蘭世界盃大名單中，包括韓德森(Jordan Henderson)、亞歷山大阿諾德(Trent Alexander-Arnold)及拉爾拉拿(Adam Lallana)都效力利物浦，也有不少球員在熱刺、曼城、曼聯等英超的球隊，因此索斯蓋特認為，利物浦其實就代表著英格蘭，「我知道很多人支持皇馬，但我認為利物浦能贏得冠軍，這對英格蘭來說絕對是件好事。」
另外，索斯蓋特也提到英格蘭的隊長人選，雖然還沒確定由誰出任，不過他卻特別稱讚韓德森，「對他來說沒有不可能完成的任務，他是一個令人印象深刻的角色，他非常專注，適應性很強，還非常成熟，對球隊也負有責任感。」

前中央氣象局預報中心主任吳德榮提醒，下周二（8日）、下周三（9日）另一波鋒面影響，移動速度較上一波緩慢，結構比前波完整，得預防劇烈天氣。天氣風險公司分析師賴忠瑋也說，下波鋒面可不像這波鋒面只有蜻蜓點水一下，到達台灣附近之後會有點滯留，要留意有持續性雨勢或局部較大雨勢。

氣象局表示，今天（4日）鋒面遠離，不過雲量還是偏多，其中東半部地區及西半部山區不定時有短暫雨出現，西半部平地則為多雲偶爾可見陽光的天氣；白天起東北季風減弱，北台灣高溫回升，北部及東半部中午前後可達25、26度；中南部受東北季風影響小，高溫仍維持在30至32度。
氣象局預報，周五（4日）在東北季風影響下，北台灣低溫將下降至19、20度，其他地方早晚也會偏涼些；天氣方面，雲量還是偏多，東半部地區及西半部山區仍有短暫雨。

氣象局指出，周六（5日）東北季風減弱，周日（6日）、下周一（7日）風向轉為偏南到西南風，白天再度回到悶熱的天氣型態；各地大多為多雲到晴，東半部地區有局部短暫陣雨，午後西半部山區有局部短暫雷陣雨。
氣象局提醒，下周二、下周三（9日）另一鋒面影響，天氣轉為不穩定，中部以北及東北部地區有短暫陣雨或雷雨，其他地區亦有局部短暫陣雨或雷雨；下周四（10日）至下周六（12日）鋒面在台灣附近徘徊，各地有陣雨或雷雨且機率仍偏高，並需留意局部較大雨勢。
吳德榮在「三立準氣象•老大洩天機」專欄說，最新歐洲中期預報中心（ECMWF）模式模擬顯示，下周二、下周三另一波鋒面影響，移動速度較這波緩慢，結構比前波完整，西南風比較強、水氣也較多，形成不穩定的大氣環境。

吳德榮表示，但對於鋒面的滯留性、西南風的強度及水氣輸送量，與典型最不穩定的梅雨型態相比仍有段差距；儘管如此，在其中發展一些「中、小尺度對流系統」，伴隨「短時強降水」及「劇烈天氣」（雷擊、強風、冰雹等）機率還是很高。
賴忠瑋在臉書指出，下周二受到鋒面雲系南下影響，全台灣都將有雷雨或局部較大雨勢發生的機會，要留意的是這波鋒面可不像上波鋒面只有蜻蜓點水一下，目前資料顯示結構較紮實，水氣量也較多，加上移速緩慢，到達台灣附近後會有點滯留，因此要留意持續性雨勢或局部較大雨勢。

中信兄弟曾陶鎔14日在面對富邦悍將時，9局下上場代打敲出3分全壘打，也幫助兄弟突破鴨蛋，雖然最終輸球，但曾陶鎔的表現仍然受到讚賞，15日比賽他成為先發第6棒、三壘手，總教練史耐德說：「他為自己爭取到了先發的機會。」
在14日的比賽中，中信兄弟整隊受到富邦悍將先發投手伍鐸壓制，前8局都沒有得分，第9局先是李宗賢發生守備失誤，接著蘇緯達敲出穿越一壘手防線的安打，代打上場的曾陶鎔敲出全壘打，也幫助兄弟突破伍鐸。
史耐德認為，不僅僅是前一場比賽的全壘打，曾陶鎔近期在打擊練習時也都拿出很好的表現，這為他自己爭取到很好的機會。
過去曾陶鎔面對外角變化球時，時常會被誘使出棒，遭到三振，不過14日曾陶鎔敲出全壘打的球，就是伍鐸的外角滑球。
今年兄弟特別幫曾陶鎔針對外角變化球加強，史耐德說：「其實大部分右打者都對外角變化球沒轍，今年春訓特別用發球機，投出外偏左、偏右的滑球、曲球，讓他們區分，在什麼樣的角度容易變成壞球，什麼樣的角度能夠揮棒。」
